This is how original Disney is… they steal classic fairy tales like Cinderella and Snow White, the appropriate historical figures like Mulan and Pocahontas. Now, Disney is following up on the Cars franchise with Planes. Disney’s Planes is based on the same antropromorphic world of talking vehicles with names like Dusty and Rusty and and Musty and Busty and Lusty. The originality for the concept behind Planes shows that Disney has replaced its creativity with a cash register. Since I have reversed engineered Disney’s creative process, I can predict up coming Disney movies… Later this year look for Trains. Early next next, Disney will release Boats, followed on by Drones.
I find the In Soviet Russia jokes really funny. If you are not familiar with these, here is classic example.
In America, you can always find a party. In Soviet Russia, Party always find you!
Recently someone posted the following question on reddit which spurred over a thousand comments: Do Russians have “In Capitalist America” jokes? Here are some of the In Capitalist America jokes from that thread of comments.

- In socialist America, broke bums get mad when others achieve success.
- In capitalist America, corporations create the laws.
- In capitalist America, home leaves you!

Two things that most governments don’t get, sarcasm and how the internet works. If you asked me what countries routinely monitor Facebook and Twitter, I would have replied repressive and corrupt governments such as China or Belarus. But recent events reveal that the United States and other first world nations are actively monitoring for dissident not social networking sites.
The FBI is said to be looking to monitor all public information posted on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The FBI put out a request for proposal on a social networking and monitoring application. You have the right to ignore a friend request from the FBI.
Maybe the FBI is lagging behind social media compared to other agencies because already shortly after news broke out about the deportation of two British tourists after they tweeted the following: Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?
Tweeting that you going to do anything not nice to America will get you deported and barred from entering the country again. I don’t doubt that in the future, as part of the citizen naturalization process, a social media background check will be conducted before you can be made a citizen.
South Korea has detained a South Korean citizen for posting sarcastic comments and images on Twitter about North Korea and maybe charged for retweeting North Korean propaganda under South Korea’s National Security Law. So tweeting, retweeting, and following a North Korean organization is a national security violation in South Korea!?
I recently saw a comic by Joel Pett that made me realize that the climate change debate is more about money, marketing, and control that it is about the climate. The comic depicted a lecture on climate where the presenter (possibly Al Gore) had a slide with a few bullets; Energy Independence, Preserve Rain forests, Sustainability, Green Jobs, Livable Cities, Healthy Children, etc, etc. At the same time, a guy in the back of the lecture hall says, “What if it’s a big hoax and we create a better world for nothing?”
So what’s wrong with the above comic? It’s troll propaganda. Most people have have issues with how the current climate change debate is framed are not concern about creating a better world for nothing. I believe the better question is “What if it’s a big hoax and we create a better world for whom and for how much?” I also have issues with the bullet points in the slide. I would have changed them to Carbon Cap, Consumption Tax, CRV Fee, Force Relocation, etc, etc.
Take green jobs for example. It’s been recently reported that a $500 million green job program run by the government has been mostly a failure, with only about 15% of participants landing jobs. Another half a billion dollar failure in the green job sector has been Solyndra. After receiving over $500 million loan from the federal government Solyndra still went bankrupt.
Climate change is normal planetary and geological evolution, just like continental drift, but certainly pollution and high emissions don’t have not helped to maintain the climate at which humans prefer. But having lived through the financial mismanagement in part both by the government and the financial institutions that are paid to manage financial risk, I can assure that any effort or agreement on climate change will not benefit the people.
For over two days, the top news item from network news to algorithm powered Google News has been, wait for it, Osama’s porn stash. I can’t believe that elite secret US commandos kill the world’s most wanted criminal, reportedly kill him unarmed and possibly by shooting him from behind the head, dump his body in the ocean probably with a set of cement shoes, captured a ‘treasure trove’ of material such as notebooks and hard drives, and all that is released by the government is that Osama had some secret porn stash. Osama is was a grown man who took credit for the deaths of thousands, I honestly don’t care about the guys sexual fantasies.
Here is a list of disinformation and psyops from the CIA I don’t care to see in my morning news about Osama bin Laden.
- That Osama eat kittens for breakfast.
- That Osama didn’t pay taxes.
- That Osama didn’t have Wifi.
- That Osama didn’t live It’s a Wonderful Life.
- That Osama put out a fatwa on Lady Gaga.
- That Osama wants people to “leave Britney alone.”
- That Osama hates the Teletubies.
- That Osama is a Lakers fan.
I’ve lost all faith in the media. On one side they don’t actually do much journalism anymore, they are cowed into not reporting information that has not been deemed ‘declassified’ so they are left reporting press releases and Facebook status updates and they are always ready to take credit when they ‘investigate’ a lead on Twitter. Andy Carvin, the senior strategist at NPR, recently ‘debunked sloppy reporting’ about possible Israeli-made weapons in the civil war in Libya. Oh, by the way, it’s a full scale civil war. It’s not a protest, uprising, opposition, rebellion, it’s a full scale civil war that is functioning as a proxy war between regional super powers but you won’t hear about that in the news either.
An image surfaced in Facebook of a mortar shell used by Ghaddafi forces on the rebels with a insignia that to me immediately looked as a ‘star of david dangling from a parachute.’ I don’t read Arabic, but it seems that those that posted the image are claiming this to be irrefutable proof that the Libyan government are using Israeli munitions on its people. Andy Carvin took it amongst himself to prove this wrong using his journalism degree by just reposting the link on his Twitter account. LOL. This is is journalism in the age of social media, putting up your twitter account and reposting links. You can read the timeline of how Andy Carvin unearthed the fact that the shell is “most likely British made” and the graphic is probably an iconography describing the purpose of the shell. The icon of what seems like the star of David depicts indicates that it’s a flare.
If you look closely at the image in question, you can deduce the function of the shell from the label and icons on the shell. It reads “81 mm M ILLUM PARA L 20A L2Y.” The shell even includes the lot number. Anyone with common sense can know that this image doesn’t necessary mean that Israeli is backing or has backed the Libyan government.
Even thought this seems like common sense, it’s apparently not common sense for journalists like Andy Carvin who is taking credit of his ‘findings’ and social media mad hatter skills of Twitter, Google, and Facebook to ‘debunked sloppy reporting’. What is sad, is that he doesn’t dig deeper than these shallow findings. For one, from the ‘intelligence chatter’ that I am picking up, a great many of the rebel fighters think they are rebelling against their government because they have been told that it’s backed by Israel. The propaganda of this image in pro-Arab Facebook groups and Andy Carvin’s investigated journalism seems to confirm this. Someone is telling the rebel fighters that Israel is involved. The question is who is feeding this anti-Israel and anti-Ghaddafi propaganda to the rebels? Andy Carvin should also following up on why we are actively involved in Libya’s civil war but do very little to prevent the massacres taking place in the Ivory Coast.
