The Snowball Effect Times The Butterfly Effect

In Chaos Theory, the Butterfly Effect is the idea that a very small difference in the initial state of a physical system can make a significant difference in the state of the system at a later time. The Butterfly Effect is often described in the following terms, a butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the world might ultimately lead to a hurricane in another part of the world.

So if all of the world’s butterflies flap their wings in unison at the same time will this lead to a extension level event or do they cancel each other out? If the flapping of a butterfly can ultimately lead to a tsunami, can it also be said that a tornado can be prevented or stopped before ever forming by a different butterfly flapping somewhere else? Maybe butterflies are the only thing keeping the world from falling apart and preventing a complete and total planetary apocalypse.
