Crusty Crustacean

Many news sites are reporting the discovery of a new lobster-like crustacean. The crustacean was found some 900 miles south of Easter Island, one of the most remote islands in the Pacific. When I first heard that a new lobster-like animal was found I was ready to start cooking but looking at the photo of the creature gave me second thoughts. The crusty ass crustacean is white blind and has a full coat of what looks like fur.

The new critter has been dubbed Kiwa hirsuta, named after a Polynesian crustacean goddess. This species is one ugly mofo and I definetly don’t want to look at this sucker at the dinner table.

The lack of color and eyes indicates that this guy is a deep ocean dweller. It is reported that it was found 7,540 feet below sea level.
